About the service
How are you different from municipal home care?
Municipal care covers basic needs and is granted after an assessment. We work on what there is no time for there: walks, conversation, accompaniment, outings. You choose the hours and the tasks. Many clients use both at once.
Do you perform medical procedures?
No. Injections, dressings, administering medication and anything requiring a medical qualification are not our service. We remind about prescribed medication, accompany to specialists and report changes to the family.
How quickly can we start?
Usually within a week. The free online meeting happens within a few days, then you meet the helper, and the first visit follows.
I am not sure I need help at all. What should I do?
Start with a single visit: tea and a walk. Many people say they were not waiting for help, but for company.
About helpers
How do you vet your helpers?
An interview, references from previous employers and a criminal record certificate. A coordinator accompanies the helper on the first visit.
For families far away
Can I arrange this for a parent while living abroad?
Yes, that is a common situation. We deal with you, you pay, the visits happen in Riga, and you get a short report after each one.
About price and payment
What do package hours cover?
Visits, shopping, accompaniment, trips, waiting time and preparing reports. Goods and outside specialists are paid separately.
Which is better value: a package or one-off help?
In a package an hour costs €45, one-off it is €70. If you need help regularly, a package is cheaper from 8 hours a month.
How do I pay?
Once a month by invoice and bank transfer. You can pay from abroad if the children handle payment.
Can the municipality pay part of it?
We are a private service. The municipality pays for its own services, and we help you work out what you are entitled to.
